Hello everyone....just a little bit confusing. I am using Intel D945GCCR. In its summary specs it says support up to 4GB of memory but in its memory section it says

"The board utilizes 2 GB of addressable system memory. Typically the address space
that is allocated for PCI Conventional bus add-in cards, PCI Express configuration
space, BIOS (SPI Flash), and chipset overhead resides above the top of DRAM (total
system memory). On a system that has 2 GB of system memory installed, it is not
possible to use all of the installed memory due to system address space being
allocated for other system critical functions."

BIOS/ SPI Flash (4 MB)
• Local APIC (19 MB)
• Digital Media Interface (40 MB)
• Front side bus interrupts (17 MB)
• PCI Express configuration space (256 MB)
• GMCH base address registers, internal graphics ranges, PCI Express ports (up to
512 MB)
• Memory-mapped I/O that is dynamically allocated for PCI Conventional and PCI
Express add-in cards "

I dont know what these technical definitions mean. My simple question...can i add 2 GB RAM more to my motherboard. I am using Intel core2 Duo 2.4 Ghz processor with Windows 7 64 bit. If a add a 2GB stick shall i be able to utilize all my memory ? Good answers shall be appreciated. Thanks.

Right now you have 2GB of RAM. You may be able to upgrade depending on the RAM slots. If you have a single 2GB stick then you can add another (of the same model/timings), but you wouldn't be able to another 2GB if you have 2 1GB sticks in there. If you do have 2 1GB sticks, you can still upgrade by removing them and putting in 2 2GB sticks (which are very cheap now). The part where it talks about it not being fully utilized is because you have an integrated graphics card which will take up half a gig of memory.

suited now you have 2GB of RAM. you would be waiting to correctly be waiting to augment based on the RAM slots. in case you have a unmarried 2GB stick then you definately can upload yet yet another (of the same sort/timings), yet you does now no longer be waiting to a diverse 2GB in case you have 2 1GB sticks in there. in case you do have 2 1GB sticks, you need to develop by way of removing them and putting in 2 2GB sticks (that are very less costly now). the section the area it talks approximately it now no longer being thoroughly utilized is on the grounds which you have an outfitted-in photos card which will take up 0.5 a gig of memory.

Yes, you can put in 4 GB RAM.

And you can configure your motherboard to use some part of it with your graphics card for demanding applications, if you wish.

Hope that's straight to the point!
