Question:
Dell Dimension E510 won't turn on?

I have a dell dimension E510 and I started getting an Infinite Loop Error ati2dvag (blue screen).

With constant restart it went away and led into a new problem. The computer started for a couple seconds and turned itself off and then started again (by itself) and turned off.

This keeps on going until I shut off the surge protector.

After that, I got lights 1, 2 on with two beeps (beeps: I think). And now I tried restarting it again (hitting power button) and it finally shows lights 1, 2, 3 with two beeps.

What could this mean and how can I resolve this?

Thank you for your insights!

"At the moment I am doing safe mode because I want to eliminate the ati2dvag problem."

Good idea, ati2dvag is a DLL file associated with ATI graphics adapter so it sounds like you have a problem with your display/graphics drivers. What you need to do whilst you are in safe mode with networking, is get the most recent drivers from ATI, here is a link to their autodetect feature if you don't know what flavour graphics card you have- http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx

and the main search page- http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Try and uninstall the current ATI drivers the install the drivers you just downloaded, then restart your PC normally, hopefully there won't be any further probs, if there is, you may be dealing with a hardware failure with your graphics card or one of your RAM modules.

Read this page and try to figure out the beeps.... are they 1...1...11. or 1...11...1... and so on. meaning, beep.......beep beep......beep.. pauses between the beeps, and how many beeps together.

this chart might help diagnose what the problem is.

Like the first one in the chart ..is beep ...beep....beep beep. I - 1- 2 microprocessor...

So count the beeps.

It seems such as you motherboard has overheated. If thats no longer the case then you probable basically could desire to format it. whether it is greater effective in case you get a clean workstation nicely worth $a million,800. it ought to have warmth sinkers and and paintings advantageous. Get a HP envy or something like that.

What I did to make mines work is open it, take out the ram and put it back in.
