I recently purchased a logitech optical mouse. The model no. of the mouse is M-BT58 and its P/N is 831115-0000. When i connected it to my PC, the mouse wasn't working at all although the laser was on! Now it'll be great if someone could really help me for this thing. Also i even lost my Driver's CD, so please if the problem is related with the drivers then please tell me the exact website from where i could download the drivers. Thank you.

Logitech is renown for its issues. Google every problem with a mouse you can think of. I guarantee Logitech is on the first page somewhere. I recommend buying a different mouse. Sorry, its that or lots of problems.

Have you tried drivers from the Logitech website?

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/mice/&cl=au,en

(choose the Optical Mouse option, then select Downloads from the next page)

You will then need to install Logitech SetPoint.

BTW, that's an optical mouse. Not a laser... the red light you're seeing is in fact, vanilla light.

If the mouse doesn't work, ditch it and get a real laser mouse... the Logitech LS1 is a laser based mouse and can be bought for around $15.

There is a windows setting, or a browser setting that lets you set the mouse wheel scroll rate or by a whole page with the mouse wheel. The mice with side to side rockers on the wheel can sometimes cause this symptom too, but it's unlikely two mice in a row with one them being brand new. start > Setting > Control panel > Mouse >wheel change the checked radio button saying "One screen at a time" to the one that says " lines at a time" set the lines to one or two and your good to go.

try pressing the green button under your mouse, then press the button on receiver.
