So I use the Realtek Sound Manager, haven't had any problems since I got my computer in Oct 2010. I have speakers in my monitor as well as headphones that I use. The headphones were listed as "Speakers" and the monitor was "ATI HD Audio Device." Was having difficulty with a game so I updated my drivers. For Realtek, you have to uninstall the old drivers first then install the new ones. So I did.

But now the monitor isn't appearing in the list. The headphones ("Speakers") are, as well as Digital Output, Digital Output (optical), and Digital Input, none of which have options like the old "ATI HD Audio Device" did before I updated.

So basically I can't get the icon for my monitor's speakers to show up. Headphones work fine, and if I actually open up the device through the DM I can set it as default and it works, but it still doesn't appear in the audio manager. I switch between the headphones and monitor frequently, so I'd really like to get this working again so I don't have to go into the DM everytime. Thoughts?

Device manager on the contro panel, audio and game controllers, scan for hardware changes and it might give you an option for an update if you are connected.
