I'm trying to run Guild Wars, but every time I play after a few minutes the screen goes black for a moment, then I get the message,

"VPU recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands."

I often have to reboot the computer as it will freeze before or after I get this message. Sometimes I will still be able to play the game afterward, but it will run very laggy/spastically, the graphics will bug out and the visuals will look as if the game just took 9 tabs of acid.

I've looked it up in several places, but so far I have yet to find a fix that works for me.

My specs are:

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
CPU Speed: 2.39 GHz
RAM: 1023.0 MB
Graphics Card: Radeon 9700 Pro/ ATI Radeon Graphics Processor AGP (0x4E44)
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002
Service Pack 3 (build 2600)

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

a.a. meetings were easier for me than cocaine anon. because coke was my drug of choice. Congrats on being clean. Its been years for me as well. I don't go as often as I should just when I get that little guilt thing going. I hear meth is a rough one. Isn't it great to be living again tho?! Do whatever works for you babe. All programs work on the same principal. Please don't make the mistake I did and think you can do it alone tho. Remember if we could have we would have. No one wants to live like that. Love and best wishes sweetie!

1. i also experience that with my old video card, try to download an UPDATED driver for your video card or the latest driver available. it will solve your vpu issue. then

2. another solution that i tried is that i only installed the graphic driver and direct x but i do not installed the other application of the video card.

3. set the video mode of your game to lowest.

Get new card & use Reginout.
