Hey guys,
this is kind of important. Do you happen to know of a way I can extract video from a DVD on my mac without causing any damage to the DVD? I'm doing a presentation for one of my classes and I'm in desperate need to extract some video clips from a DVD.
Do you happen to know of a safe method ? or perhaps know a free software that I could download?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I think this step by step guide will help you a lot. It will show you how to rip and copy video from DVD to Mac hard drive. Supports personal DVD and copyright protected DVD. It will not damage the DVD. The guide is easy to understand and it works pretty well for me all the time.

Hi, So far as I know, ripping dvd won't damage any dvd. Sounds like besides ripping videos you also need to edit your source clips to do your presentation. I think this one will be good for you.

This ripper can do rip DVD to AVI, rip DVD to MP4, rip DVD to MPEG, MOV, 3GP, HD video(HD AVI, HD TS, HD MOV, HD WMV…), MP3 etc with super fastest DVD ripping speed. Therefore, with this DVD Ripper software you are easy to put your DVD on iPod, iPhone, PSP, Apple TV, Zune, BlackBerry etc with excellent sound and image quality.

Edit Video Settings, and choose you player suited Video Encoder, Resolution, Frame Rate, Video Bitrate.

Input you need Video Resolution in the form of Width(pixels)*Height(pixels), along with the Audio Settings adjusting: Audio Encoder, Sample Rate, Channels, Audio Bitrate.

Also you can select the audio track and subtitle you want for your output video.

Follow the search result bellow for more details if you feel good about this one.

Without damaging the DVD? You know to rip video from a DVD you don't actually use a cheese grater or anything like that right? lol. You cannot damage a DVD by ripping video from it.

Anyway, you need to use something like Handbrake (that's what I use). It's free and easy to use and works great. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12987/handbrake

There are others such as MacTheRipper but Handbrake is my recommendation.

do no longer use FLV documents, because it is somewhat much impossible to transform to a distinctive format. rather, obtain YouTubeGet for loose! seek for it on Google and you will come across a internet site that includes this freeware. once you obtain it, all you will desire to do is replica the URL of the video you like and paste it into the container on YouTubeGet. obtain the document as AVI! anticipate it to obtain and you obtain it!
