I bought a x58 motherboard http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131755 and a G skill Ram http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311 but everytime i put the ram on the motherboard i just got a black screen? so what im asking is this ram http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145236 compatible with the x58 motherboard? and does Overclocking is bad for the motherboard? please help!!! i wasted 1500$ and i cant fail!!!

Yes, the RAM is compatible with your motherboard. Why don't you try just putting one stick of RAM in and see if it will boot?

This board allows for overclocking with its many featured BIOS.

Yes that ram should be compatible with that mother board. Do you have the 3 chips in the blue slots in order for the memory to function correctly it needs to be in the right slot. Some memory conflicts are the memory chips themselves try switching their order around or taking one out at a time maybe one of them is bad. But if you have to run 2 chips you gotta use the blue slots closest to the cpu. Hope this helps!

in accordance to the specs for the motherboard, it takes those style of RAM modules: DDR3 2000(O.C)/1866(O.C)/1800(O.C)/1600(O.C)/... Whoever informed you approximately overclocking and RAM does not understand what they're conversing approximately.
