I download files using Zip from ModtheSims for the Sims 2. Well lately I have tried to download a file and once its downloaded it tells me that It is corrupt and can't download. At first i thought it was the other person computer or the file and it was bad thats why i couldn't open it/use it. However, the other day I tried to download a few others things, from the same site, and they to said they were corrupt. I can't imagine 5 different files from 5 different people are all going to be corrupt. I have a Dell XPS 400, Windows XP, it has all the goodies on it and its only 5 months old and have never had a problem with it before. We run multiple virus scans on it and adaware/spyware on it all the time. What could be causeing these files to show up as being corrupt?

If your zip file CAN unzip from other sites -- the problems you note are likely due to some of the recent slowness of the MTS2.

Specifically, there may be checksum errors in the files you download. This is caused when your ISP may also be experiencing some delays from some servers on the route that relays files to you. I've been having this problem myself intermittently. Based on bandwidth tests my ISP is not giving service as advertised but this tends to be transient although more frequent than it should be.

Different hours of the day are more successful for me on reaching and loading some sites. Modthesims2 connections for me have been reliable, however.

So if your zip unpacker is working for other sites, I'd suggest trying to get your downloads at a different time of day for a while. There are some things from MTS2 that cannot be gotten anywhere else, so compromise isn't always going to work.

Good luck!

you can either try using another unzipping software like winrar or you may also have a virus. try going to a differnt site and downloading any kinf od zip file and see if those are also corrupt. If they are then there is a high chance you have a virus and i would reccoment an online virus scan besides the one you have now as a second opinion heres a really good one http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/?langid=ie&venid=sym

You should look for alternate sites for downloading. It seems that you are downloading from the same site. The corrupt files are corrupt at the source, at the server itself. And not on your computers.

I would uninstall your .zip software and install it again, or download and install it again. It could also be what your downloading them with. If your using some type of download mangement software the software could be corrupt itself! I hope I have helped you.
