Hello..again

I have an old Dell Desktop. Not sure about the model or anything. Well the computer crashed and thanks to the helpful users on Yahoo Answers i learned the hard drive is done.

My question - is there anyway I can get the computer operating again without a hard drive? I still have the Windows XP disc but idk if that will be of any use since i don't have a hard drive.

But i do have a flash drive so is there anything i can download to hopefully get this computer rebooted or is it history?

i'm not spending money on a new hard drive lol

Nope, you need a harddrive to store your data!!

the only thing you could do (unless you get a new drive) is to install a live linux distro or turn it into a firewall box by using something like pfSense

It is possible to run a computer through a USB disk, look up live-USB or even live-CD.

It might be easier to do it with a version of Linux rather than Windows though.

definite, i'd do what you listed above with regard to the sata enclosure. i'd commence from scratch when you've taken your information off, reinstalling the operating equipment will actual be more advantageous efficient in the destiny. i detect fairly some those important shops alongside with bestbuy to be overpriced. i'd have a flow my self and then ask fantastic purchase in case you get stuck. You get to study and then use this journey in the destiny

well,

I got your points, my hard drive had crashed also before sometime, i got it repaired from hardware engineer. You should do so. Then Install the OS in it.

There is option to use flash drive instead of Hard drive.

Thanks
