Because Apple won't let them. Apple considers themselves a hardware company, and their software will only run on their hardware. It's written specifically so that it won't run on any other hardware, and their EULA forbids it to be used on any other hardware platform. Apple has also signed legal agreements with developers of virtual machine software, like VMWare, stating that they will not attempt to do Apple hardware emulation. Anyone who tries gets sued into oblivion by Apple's legal team.

Microsoft is a software company. Not only do they not care what hardware runs their software, the more platforms it runs on, the happier they are. They have no reason to sue Apple, since what Apple does has no impact on them. It would be like Ford trying to sue GM because GM parts can't be used on Ford cars - they make their own parts and want to sell them, so the competition not being compatible with them doesn't matter.

You serious? Apple have been working towards compatibility with windows file formats for as long as theyve made os's. Bootcamp is just the culmination of that. It remains the fact that there is lots of windows software (most ntably games) that run on windows and not osx. You may want to consider the fact that apple has designed an os to dual boot w. microsoft. Microsoft has never attempted this not have they eny interest in creating an os that supports osx. In fact if you want to run tiger or lepoard on a windows machine you're into a whole world of pain. Anyhoo. Its what people want. thats why they've supported it. Personally I think its great. I like osx but an a long time pc user . Now I can have the best of both worlds by buying a mac. Once they get their video card technology sorted out up im for one. (At this stage the gpus are the only thing that makes macs lame gaming machines).

You know apple does not want microsoft running mac os x on there computers cause thats just the way they want it. I think mac os x is better because they have good technology for designing and gaming and im not going to say microsoft sucks cause they dont. I still like microsoft even though I use mac most of the time. Apple when they 1st released there os they where like no microsoft you can not run our os and thats how it has been. Microsoft might beable to be like you cant do it but idk about that.

I assume you're talking about Leopard.

Unfortunately, Microsoft prides itself on creating applications for.....Windows, and seemingly has no interest in developing applications or emulators for running other operating systems simultaneously, without the help of virtualPC.

If your'e looking to run a NON MS OS, you'll be looking at something like vmware, gem

The difference is that Microsoft licenses it's OS to run on all computer hardware. Apple does not license out to other hardware. So no you will not see that.

Since Macs are just PCs, Apple wouldn't be able to sell their medicore computers at huge mark ups if people could install OSX on a Dell. So it's illegal to install OSX on a non-Apple machine. Illegal like downloading movies and music...

Try NetBSD, is alot like MAC in fact MAC came from Unix originally and is still Unix in it's core.

You can run NetBSD or many other distros from within windows with Virtual Box.

I won't tell you Windows sucks, but I personally think so.

Legal and hardware issues. Mac is a monopolizing ***** of a company that restricts the use of Mac OS X on a PC because they want you to buy a Mac. Also, they restrict OS X to only work on computers that have Mac (read: crappy) hardware. Of course, there exist versions of OS X that are hacked and can be installed on a PC. Google will help =D

They could - it's just that Apple will not sell the Operating System seperately

It is called big money business and when it comes to big money the consumer always loses. Neither company is looking out for you and me. You can talk about computer specs this and that but it is still about business.
