Hardware issue? Since you reformatted the HD several times, it cant be a virus. Sounds like a hard drive going bad, could be bad RAM, too..... Download a RAM test program and check the RAM.

Well, I can tell you that a virus IS NOT causing your restart problems. It sounds to me like you have too much stuff trying to come up on ur comp. Try going into safe mode and running msconfig, disable EVERYTHING. If the problem is gone, then you know you just need to take some **** off of startup. BTW...to the guy who said to turn off restart when an error occurs...thanx...I thought it was my video card failing, because it used to freeze till i turned up the performance, then it started restarting instead. you can get also online help here if you didn't get answer from above http://www.iyogi.net/tech-support.html.

flow these steps:

1.) remove harddrive and place in another computer (friends should work) if computer restarts then i is a virus if not then it is bios or hardware

Follow if hardware BiOS

2.) flash the computers BIOS if you determine it is hardware/bios (go to manufactures website and download current bios, place on usb, cd, disk, and follow instructions

3.) remove every componet except processer, harddrive, video card, sigle ram chip. If computer doesnt restart than one of the removed componets if faulty

4.) Replace Powersupply

5.) replace motherboard

Follow if virus:

download spybot

Run computer in safe mode on boot press f10 choose safe mode

remove viruses if not all remove reboot computer spybot will finish the job on reboot (be advised it will take forever)

Why the pc reboot itself? Unfortunately problems like this can be caused by one of 1000 different things. you can get some helps from here http://www.keep-pc-clean.com/why-the-pc-reboot-itself.html

Registry Easy is an excellent Windows Registry Cleaner which helps you stop the restart .

It seems hardware issue and you have not mentioned that, either you made any hardware swaps recently or not. if you made any changes then you need to update all drivers related with that Hardware. If not then you may have issues with RAM ,VGA card or Fan.

So if you are familiar with hardware then Remove your RAM, VGA cards and clean up the area and put those back in same places.

and look once rebooting the system. If still it does same thing then you need to check your FAN one but i don't think you have problem with fan because it runs fine within OS installation period so.

And still stay same bug then you need to Check your BIOS and the OS(if you are using licensed V then no) disk which you are using .

Sure it's not a hardware fault?

Check for:

A bad power supply

Failed motherboard capacitors (common issue on older boards)

bad DRAM module (run a memory tester)

Dead fan or loose CPU heatsink causing overheating?

try to check if one of your fans stopped turning ... maybe it is a system check.. if one of the components turns hot then it reboots by itself
