Should I get a custom gaming desktop or an Alienware m14x?

I am struggling to see which computer I should get for gaming. I want to play GTA IV on a pc to download cool police car mods and LCPDFR. I need portability for example to dj. The dj program is called virtual dj for my Hercules RMX DJ Console but also need good enough performance to run GTA IV with police car mods and LCPDFR police mod at very good settings. Can you tell me at what settings do you think the desktop will run gta iv with the mods i listed, and tell me at what settings the m14x would run gta iv with the mods. So basically tell me what settings can the desktop and the m14x run gta with police car mods and lcpdfr based on the specs i listed below, so that way i can decide which one to get. Also tell me which one you recommend me buying.

even if it is under powered top the laptop at first you can easily upgrade a desktop after you have brought it. laptops cannot be upgraded and alien ware has been run into the ground ever since dell brought them. hope that helps
