Formatting with a USB drive?

OK, so I basically formatted my USB drive and then tried to copy windows 8 installation files into the (formatted) USB. However something majorly screwed my PC up and the copying process was interrupted. I tried copying them again and then skipping the files I had already copied, but when I booted from the USB drive and tried to install windows, an error popped up, stating that a file was corrupt. So basically what I'm asking is: do I need to format my USB drive again or just copy the installation files over?
Thanks in advance..

Formatting a drive to be a boot drive is a bit different from formatting a disk partition.

Since you don't say how big the USB drive is, no way to say how long it could or should take. Bigger will take longer...

There may be problem if you just copy all the installation file to usb drive. It'll be good if you format the usb drive and start it again.

I did not think it was possible with Windows 8, but apparently it is.

Good Luck
