i tried to run my antivirus scanner and found 12 unwanted files. i moved it to quarantine and reboot my computer. but nothing happened. still, there is nothing that is displayed on the desktop, no start menu, no icons, only the background image is visible. all of this happened when i tried to scan an USB knowing that it has viruses. after scanning, i let all the files to be deleted by formatting the said drive. but what occurred, a notice was displayed on the screen saying that the formatting process cannot be done because of some application/ or open file was running. what i did was i removed the USB without having a proper eject process. then i reboot my computer. and then, it happened. nothing was displayed on my desktop. but the task manager is functioning. i tried to run a new task, mozilla firefox, and it was running smoothly, and also other programs. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? I REALLY NEED YOUR SUGGESTIONS GUYS. Thanks in advance. GODBLESS.

Open Task manger (ctrl+Alt+Del) click the new tesk button at the bottom, type in "Explorer.exe" withour quotes. Press OK

Ya, listen to the guy at the top. It sounds like explorer.exe crashed. The funny thing is that it usually starts up after. Maybe it isn't a start-up program. Go to "START" "RUN" and type "msconfig". Go to the start-up tab - never mind, it's not there

But you could try turning on some services or startup programs!

Reboot and log on from safe mode as administrator. Run the Anti-virus again and remove all those infected files. Then reboot to normal log on. If turn back to normal, great! Otherwise, back to safe mode again and run systemm restore or us syste disk to run system repair.
