I'm trying to make sure I have the latest drivers on my desktop, but sometimes it's hard to find what I need. Is there a utility that can help me find relevent updates for my pc?

There is software (several products actually) that supposedly will find all the driver updates for you.

Your best bet is just to check the manufacturers web site for updates and it's free.

Unless your PC is doing something stupid, I wouldn't worry that much about the latest drivers.

Don't spend money on that software - whatever it is. Just go to the Manufacturers web site and have a look. Here is a list of what is important in Hardware: Video Card, Network Card.

If you have a lot of software thata is Microsoft, just use Live Update. For the other software, go to the Software Site, usually in the HELP section.

In a nutshell, download the software into a special folder - Mine is called "Computer Updates". Usually you have to either (1) DoubleClick or (2) UNZIP the file and then run Setup. It is not that hard. And if you are not in need of an Update, don't install one. Updates can be trouble. My rule is NEVER EVER install an update until everyone else has tried it.

G'day,

The latest drivers do not means a better one. Some of them are Beta version and may give you more problems than it's worth. Therefore if you do not have any problems with your computer, do not update it.

The easiest way to find out the drivers is to go to the manufacturer's website (usually printed on the cd/disk).

Good Luck!!
