Technical problem in my computer?

I have intel core 2 duo processor, intel Dg31pr motherboard, 500 watts power supply. While working on the computer sometimes a blue screen appears telling technical problem and something else written on it and after it within a second the computer is restarted. I am not able to see anything and know what the problem is. Please tell me wats the problem? Do you think i must upgrade my power supply unit?

No, the power supply is all right. You are getting the POST single beep.

replace the RAM and see, and dont touch the gold plated contacts on the RAM,they are very static electricity sensitive to damage.

Blue screen points that u have a critical system error from which windows cannot recover and hence shutdowns, and this could be for many reasons, an error in s/w, Hardware or with the driver or a corrupted system files... Note down the error number(stop messages) displayed and check it with this website below given and follow the instructions given based on the stop messages(8 digit hexadecimal numbers)..!!

Blue screen is usually RAM problem (75%)

Download and burn a start up disc using MEMTEST86

another way to test memory is if you have 2+ sticks, take one out and leave the other one to see if the problem persists and then switch them.





The other 25% is either windows error - needs to be reinstalled or other hardware. Each one has specific tests.

what your getting is a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Depending on what the error generated is, depends on the problem, It could be anything...

this is a very dangerous fatal error..amm..first try to blow the dust away from your cpy,open the box and put it outside home blow it by vaccum or blower...u may doit by removing ram(s) by a cloth...hthis will surely help you..
