NVIDIA and ATI make chipsets
you know you dont buy your pc from the INTEL store do you?
you buy it from dell or hp but it has the same processor.
of course they have ALL got so big they now also make their own
video cards with their own chips on them.
now this means that the vast majority of ATI or NVIDIA cards
are made by OEM's(other equipment manufacturers)
they then get the flexibility of fitting the chips to BIG fast memory
or SMALL fast memory or medium amount of memory get the idea?
and if its a MOBILE chip version, then the OEM like dell or HP can
fit specific memory or wire in some SHARED system board memory
get it? chipsets the same but memory sizes/speeds are tailored by the oem
but cos the CHIP is ATI or NVIDIA the drivers can be the UNIFIED ones.
of course HP,DELL,ASUS, SPARKLE GIGABYTE can all
manufacture slightly different implementations, and they can buy the rights
to the BIOS and make the card say its a SuperDuperWOppingBig ASUS doubrey
or they can call it something else.
once they fiddle with the BIOS they are duty bound to fiddle with the DRIVERS
as well. so if they have tweeked the eyeballs out of the memory the ordinary
UNIFIED driver might be slower and their version of the driver may be better.
do you get the idea now?
so which one is better....dumb question,
but my answer is
the one that works best for you.
of course the one that gets the highest benchmark test results
could be deemed the best but if it gets too damn hot whats the point
