I'm looking to upgrade my stock intel cpu cooler for my intel i7 2600k as when i render hd projects on cinema 4d, my processor is reaching 90 degrees and just above. I've been looking at several cpu coolers like the thermaltake frio OCK, normal thermaltake frio, spire thermax eclipse ii (sp984b1) and several others. I'm also looking for a push and pull configuration for better airflow. I also have corsair vengeance ram which limits my options as they are very tall. I have a coolermaster cm 690 advance II case and a LGA 1155 socket. My motherboard is a asus P8P67 pro R3. Can you give me advice on which cpu coolers are good for your cash and ones that are just terrible if i've listed it above. I hoping for one that won't break my bank, my maximum is around £60 give or take a few pounds.

Pleases Help!!!!!!!

i just ordered this one to go with same cpu and similar mobo.

£33.32 x 1 - Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM3)

was thinking about liquid cooling, but even at 4.6ghz, won't need it.

EDIT: Just buy a new case and or heaps of fans, and make sure CPU cooler surfaces fit well with only a tiny amount of thermal paste.

The best way is to download Ccleaner here http://bitly.com/UrALrK

Or you can go on Windows operating system locate the command prompt and go there to do the following:

Create a Recovery file of system and date it today.

Then begin by;

delete the 'Temp' folders..they have hidden subfolders so you need to set the attributes in order to bypass this. For each subfolder delete all cookies and rubbish left behnd after install-uninstalled programs. Do a 'dir' command to check your progress. Make sure the 'Temp' file is empty.

goto c:\windows\prefetch and delete everything in there..no exceptions

goto c:\windows folder and delete all the '$' files that have been installed by updates. They can all be succesfully deleted and just take up disk space.

Locate the Internet Temporary Files..Check to see how high the saving level is..some have it set at 30 days..but that stores faaaar tooo much data..though it slows down the system overal. Keep this to a minimum..suggest 2 or 5 at most.

Delete all 'cookies' all those you don't need.

Locate the windows directory and go through the folders you know and those you don't need. Check this once a week at least. Some programs will install under XP as NT and older systems where there is no check of systems weight.

Check to see that system files have not changed since last booting. Things like .ini files or .bat are important items.

Check for 'Hidden Directories' all over the disk...do this at the command prompt:

dir *.* /ah wil show these hidden directories

Check the 'dir' command for all parameters

If you want something high performance I would look at this:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-h100-hydro-series-extreme-performance-cpu-cooler-s775-1155-1156-1366-2011-am2-am3

Either that or a Venomous X or Megahalems w/ push pull. The neat thing about the Corsair H100 though is that it comes with a "fan controller" and that you can add two more fans to improve it's performance even further. Basically I'd say the Noctua D14 or Thermalright Silver Arrow are the best non DIY coolers but you don't have the space for those two so the H100 is the next best.

As I suggested to you in your earlier question on the same subject 90 degrees is near to failure point so you need to look into that, have you checked the cooling fan is properly connected?

As to coolers, water cooling works well, more efficient than air cooling and the prices are slowly coming down, have a look at the Corsair Hydro range as good value for money versus cooling performance. There will be no problems with height and restrictions imposed by your RAM height on the water cooling kits.

perhaps you will find something you like here

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlis…

there are plenty of both air and water based solutions at reasonable prices.

Air flow is essential! If no hot air can get out of the case its just going to keep warming up.

You can get PC Case's with 5 fans in them already! Then you can buy an aftermarket fans, such as liquid coolers. Spend a bit of cash!

im running a thermaltake frio on a hex core amd phenom 2 1055t clocked at 3.6ghz and it keeps it below 50 degrees c

however withthose temps sounds like your case might be the issue,.

remember your case is your primary cooler, it controls how quickly room temp air gets into the case and how quickly hot air is expelled.

make sure you have lots of fans and good air flow in your case.

Intel inventory followers are infamous for overheating cpus. they're poorly designed, and function the dreaded thermal pads quite of standard thermal paste. you may get some thing extremely inexpensive, like the coolermaster hyper tx3 ($20). I merely switched from the hyper tx to the coolermaster v6gt ($40 5) my max temp is proably around the mid-severe 60s. wish that facilitates.

A good tool I used to clean up and speed up my PC is CCleaner. You can download it for free here http://j.mp/UrAHbv

It's a very good program and easy to use.
