So I was organizing my photos and saw there was a "My Pictures" tab and another "My Pictures" subtab,. so I deleted the first one thinking it was a duplicate, but it deleted ALL the sub-folders of pictures I had! :( I went to recycle bin and "restored" the "Pictures" folder and they all seem to be there, but then why am I kinda scared that they're not? Like I don't trust recycle bin lol? Should I upload all 417 photos again and organize them into folders AGAIN?! Or are they all there?!/Is recycle bin trustworthy?

Thanks!

don't panic, your files are restored if you restore them from recycle bin. Even you deleted them and can not find them from recycle bin, there are still chances to get back files with recovery software. Read more info

The recycle bin has limits. Those limits exist by default when your system is first installed (whether by you or by a computer vendor). You can change those limits, but either way, when you delete more files than will fit in the recycle bin, the files that do not fit will be permanently deleted. By default the maximum size of the recycle bin is 10% of the size of the hard drive. 417 files of 2 megabytes in size would occupy 834Mb in your recycle bin. 10% of a 100Gb hard drive is 10Gb. 834Mb is 0.8144Gb. In this case, you could be okay, unless you already had 9.5Gb in your recycle bin.

IF your recycle bin was empty before you deleted the My Pictures tab, and you haven't decreased the size of the recycle bin, and your hard drive is larger than 50Gb, then most likely you were able to safely recover all of your files.

Another thing to keep in mind, which isn't applicable to your current situation, but is definitely worth knowing: Files and folders that you delete from a networked drive are NEVER saved to the recycle bin.

most of the times, recycle bin is trustworthy. but at times, it is not.

if the file size is large, the os wil directly delete the file instead of moving it to Recycle bin.

so, check there.

if you did not find then, just by some simple goggling we can get some recovery software.

Do not worry about the license. they will be some key gens available for us.

They too can be found by some simple goggling.

do not worry, may be ur file or folders are not that big that they can be deleted with out moving to Recycle Bin.

moreover, it is the configuration of the Recycle Bin that decideds whether to move the file to Recycle Bin or delete it directly after U click Delete.....

Don't worry, your pictures are all safe and restored. The purpose of the recycle bin is to give you a second chance in case you delete something and want it back. If you noticed anything missing there are many file recovery tools that are out there which are free.

That's like asking if your calculator is trustworthy.

Yes, yes it is. All your pictures should be there.
