My mom's Dell Inspiron had to be completely rebooted due to a bad virus infection. Her computer now is completely clean. The only problem is that she does not have wireless internet on it anymore. She has an internal wireless internet card in her laptop, but we do not know how to install wireless back onto her computer. Sorry if the question sounds a bit awkward. So...is there any way to reinstall it?

thank you =3

Connect the desktop through the ethernet cord to the router, then go to the dell website and download the wi-fi drivers for it.

If its a Dell and if you bought it new then it should have come with some disks and one needed to reinstall the wireless card. The disk will contain the drivers for your card and probably some software to set up a wireless network, otherwise you can use windows built in wireless network setup wizard. If you have windows xp then goto Start > control panel > Wireless network setup wizard.

and by the way you mean reformat not reboot. rebooting is just when you restart your pc

I bet what is going on is that you have not downloaded the DRIVER for ethernet. I would point you to the right download page, but you have not said what the model of the Dell Computer is so I can't find it for you.

All you have to do is get on another computer, go to the Dell Site, click on the Support in the menu, pick the model of your laptop, go to the downloads section. There you will find the download for the ethernet driver. Download the driver and burn it to a CD. Put the CD in the laptop and install the driver, and that should fix your problem.
