I just recently installed my new E7500 Processor on a new gigabyte (Intel P45 Chipset) motherboard.. When I run CPU-Z my core speed hovers around 1600MHz x6.0 Multiplier, but will occasionally jump to 2.93 MHz x11 Multiplier, though not for long.. I've tried looking in the BIOS settings (Im not sure what to really look for) and searching for answers online on how to configure this to run at normal speed, but can't seem to find anything.. Any help would be appreciated.

It's called speedstep, when your CPU is idling (not doing anything) the multiplier reduces down to 6 to decrease your CPU's clock speed.

this is an energy saving feature, typically one that you shouldn't disable unless you're overclocking and need to turn it off for stability purposes.

Intel processors and most motherboards now have a feature that underclocks the CPU when it's not doing many processes. This is to save energy and a few other reasons. The CPU will run at full speed when needed, otherwise it's saving you some money.

If you have SpeedStep and C-STATE set to C1E, it is normal as it will reduce the CPU power according to demand on power, in your case, its a good thing as the E7500 runs at 65W, so cutting the power down would reduce your electricty bill. Wish I could get my to work :) as my Q6850 somehow wont enter C1E state so always on 95W

it is a great news that ur processor works that fast. if its going slow try to uninstall junk processes running in background. if its running fast according to you, then its great news. cheers!!!!
