(E) Online data storage. Buy a space and if you have valuable data then store it online. They take regular backups so you know you data is very safe.

It depends on what you need to back up & also what is more easily available for you. You can do an internet back up, Or back up on an external hard drive, or on any other PC or your local network. All are valid & sure in working. Personally using an external had drive is much better & safer & easier. If you use mac os x all you have to do is use Time Machine everything else is done for you automatically.

It depends how much data you have and how much you want to spend, CD/DVD's dont hold that much data 8GB per DVD Two sided at max... but, if you have loads then te best bet of yours will be to use an External hard drive where you can get sizes up to 1TB.

this can be anyhting yo wish, from all you listed to NAS, internet back-up or even another pc on your home netork.

depends on what you are willing to do and what you are willing to buy to do it.

i have multiple drives on my system, as do others on my home network and a NAS as a redundant to those...

however, if the house burns down, they're all at risk since none are in a fireproof safe,e tc and all are in the same house on the same floor...

External hard drives are the backup of choice, as a cd/dvd can get scratched, whereas an external is pretty indestructable so long as it is not spun-up. Solid state external drives are an even better choice, as I have seen one that was being used to play counterstrike while it was being thrown against a wall and the game never even skipped. Granted, solid state drives are NOT cheap, but they are well-worth the investment if you want a near-indestructible back-up. if your computer has an external SATA connector or firewire connector, you could go with either of those connections if you do not want to use a USB connection. If you are computer handy, you could even get an internal drive and connect it up, power up the system and do your back-up, then shut down and remove the drive to keep the back-up from being corrupted by viruses or other unwanteds.

I use a remote backup service. External hard drives have a large up front cost CD's take too much time to keep them current and it takes a lot of cds Remote backup has a monthly cost, but if its a one time backup then you pay for just one month. external hard drives are targets in the event of a robbery, or as one of the other answerer's said.... you can carry your data with you so it can be stolen on the go! (if you go with an external DO NOT CARRY IT WITH YOU) anyways I use http://www.backupspace.com for my service, its new but I recommend it to everyone for home or business (I started using it when my company did I liked it so much)

Here is what I do now. Backup all my software programs (including Windows Installation CD) running on the computer with License Keys/Registration info and non-security related files and documents (docs, music, pictures, etc.) to an Online Backup Service(s). I also backup (Windows Backup) the same data to a 1 Terabyte external drive, and security info (password stuff, financial stuff) to a Flash drive and keep in a secure place. I sleep very well knowing I have Online Backup (offsite) of most of my data and programs.

Anywhere you can back up data but best will be to keep back up in external hard disk.

External hard drives come in sizes ranging from 250 gigabytes (GB) to 1 terabyte

My personal opinion

you use External Hard disk

because I also backup my all data in External Hard disk

If you have few data then backup in CD/DVD

Good Luck
