No icons on XP Desktop?

Question

recently the icons dissapeared from my xp desktop and i cant seem to get them back.
the icons still arent there in safe mode but show that they are there if you view the desktop in explorer.
i also cant make the highlight box on my desktop (left click and drag), it shows the icon saying you cant move it.

anyone got idea on how to get them back?

You don't have to go anywhere this is so simple

Right click on your desktop select "Arranage Icons by"

In last three options you will see "Show Desktop Icons" Jus click that one.

For your icons have you tried right click on an empty space on the desktop,when menu appears put cursor on view,then on next menu move cursor accross and down to show desktop icons and click.

A lot of people have had this happen in the last year or so and it is primarily due to a malware infection. Just be aware you should run antivirus and malware scans in safe mode. If you are seeing that your security software will not work properly, gets turned off or you are directed to specific web pages without doing so intentionally, you are most likely infected with one or more variants of the trojan causing this problem. Just thought I would warn you!

it is an attack of a plague. besides explorer.exe is contaminated. it quite is impossible to repair it. you have 2 thoughts. a million. Reinstall XP 2. attempt restoring your computer to an until now degree via going to equipment fix in upload-ons.

right click dekstop, go to view, then show desktop icons
